Frequently Asked Questions
Rollin' Practice Sessions
For the adult sessions, the leader will guide the class through the Rollin’ process while you practice your instrument. The point of these sessions is not to show you how to play, but to provide a healthy, community-wide framework for study. You will be encouraged regularly to be intentional and mindful.
The Teen Practice Club has a structure that covers their repertoire and review for lessons. The leader will guide them through each part of their practice using the Practice Wheel. All teens will be on mute while they practice. We will not interfere with assignments from their teacher and will help them complete their work in a smooth, thoughtful way.
The general framework will be the same, yes. This is a very powerful concept in practice. By keeping the framework similar for long periods of time, we give ourselves a chance to find depth in the return to that process consistently. The rest is up to you. You will be able to set your plan for every practice you do.
No. Consistency is key, but our door is always open whether you come daily or once a week. We have different packages and memberships support different levels of commitment. Just a reminder that you do need to sign up for any session you plan to attend.
No! We realize that it is unusual, but a core value at Rollin’ is that we never listen to each other play. Practice is ultimately about you and we want to provide a place where you feel unjudged or criticised so that you can get to the work that matters to you. So you’ll be on ‘mute’ the whole time, like a soundproof practice room! The sound and the content of your practicing will be completely yours, and completely private. It’s an incredible feeling knowing that you are in an experience together, in your own way.
As we grow, we hope to add more sessions so you have more options during the day or you can even come multiple times per day. You are also welcome to come to the Teen Sessions. You can also schedule a private Rollin’ sessions under “Services.”

We highly recommend it as the sessions are designed with certain developmental stages in mind. If you can’t make it to a session for your age and want to attend another sessions, you can but know that it won’t be the same.
